Dr. Katie Leonard, MD

 Hello Wright Pediatrics Family!  I am Dr. Katie Leonard.  I have been a Pediatrician in The Woodlands area for the last 8 years.  I was born and raised in a small town in North Texas and have wanted to be a Pediatrician since I was in Kindergarten.  I followed those big dreams to Texas Tech University where I ran track and cross country and graduated in 2007 with a degree in Honors Cell and Molecular Biology with a double minor in Chemistry and English/Creative Writing. After graduating from Texas Tech University Health Science Center School of Medicine in 2011, I moved to Houston for my Pediatrics residency where I trained at Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital, LBJ Hospital, and MD Anderson Cancer Center.    

While I still enjoy running, I spend most if my time outside of the clinic with my family.  Becoming a mom has shaped the way that I practice medicine for the better.  I learned very quickly that children don’t read our medicinal textbooks—they’re all unique!  I hope to see you all soon, and I look forward to taking care of your family! 

Hello!  My name is Shelly Nalbone and I am a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. I grew up in north Houston and completed my Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at Houston Christian University. I began my nursing career at Texas Children’s Hospital, and I loved it, but knew that I wanted to work with children in a different setting. After completing my Master of Science in Nursing at Texas Woman’s University in 1999, I began working as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in primary care and found my calling! I am also an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant and find that helping parents with breastfeeding is such a sweet way to serve families. I love building relationships with my patients and their family. It is an honor and privilege providing care to them and seeing the children grow.

When I am not working as a nurse practitioner, you can find me teaching undergraduate nursing students, volunteering with Beloved & Beyond, a summer camp for people with special needs, and spending time with family and friends.
